Every year the Faculty of Biotechnology’s industrial projects seeks to provide a unique opportunity for students, by offering a carefully curated selection of activities set to culminate into individual research proposals prepared by undergraduate students!

 

On Tuesday the 28th of February, the faculty welcomed an exemplary model for professional success in the field of Biotechnology and Biomedical research!

 

Dr Arwa Kohela, Assistant Professor of Molecular Cardiology, the epitome of a biotechnology scientist, and a role model for life sciences students.

 

Dr Arwa presented her session on hereditary and genetic factors influencing heart diseases, her session was received with high praise, inspiring attendees and shedding light on how molecular mechanisms can provide novel interventions for heart diseases, and the significance of biotechnology in translational medicine.

 

Dr Arwa’s research is indeed impressive, with a diverse publication history from reputable publishers such as Spring Nature, and Science. In addition to multiple awards from her PhD studies at Hubrecht Institute, Utrecht, Netherlands.

 

The field molecular cardiology is relatively new in Egypt, and the opportunity to bring forth novel aspects to medical research, with thematic underpinnings related to Biotechnological tools is a major theme for this term.
