Graduation Projects Discussion Day - Spring 2024

The graduation projects of the Faculty of Biotechnology was an astonishing ceremony.

With 166 students’ individual projects hosted by over 25 research venues, including El Galaa Hospital For Armed Forces, Faculty of Science Cairo University, National Research Center and Medical Global Labs.

 

The faculty was honored to host more than 80 distinguished group of external examiners and supervisors, who noted visible improvements in the students' performance year over year.

 

The students completely astounded us with their accomplishments, which included winning multiple awards in the SOLE competition - securing first, second, and third places . 50,000 LE awarded fund from Innovators Support Fund (ISF) competition. A total of 18 publications were featured in journals with impact factors ranging from 0.351 to 5.09, alongside 3 publications are in press in journals with impact factors ranging from 0.23 to 4. In addition to new gene sequences uploaded to the NCBI database

 

Proudly , the students presented variety of their graduation projects prototypes and products; innovative kits to assess the antioxidant activity , 3D novel printed prototypes ,low glycemic food for diabetic patients ,functional candy and milk products with antibacterial and antioxidant activity

 

Some students were also offered insightful sessions throughout their graduation projects journey on various cutting-edge research subjects, such as the implementation of food safety and ISO 22000 system in food manufacturing for Regina company products and evaluating the Impact of transgenic Bt-potato lines on the environment and human health, and Development of a portable AI-powered microscopic prototype for microalgae identification in fish bond optimization.

 

Finally , an award ceremony was held by the faculty to recognize and honor students who achieved success in various competitions and alumni who have pursued entrepreneurship and successful careers in reputable institutions. Alongside our exceptional external supervisors who were recognized by the students for their valuable efforts throughout their journey.

 

The faculty was honored with the presence of Prof. Mahmoud Ramzy ; Director of the Petroleum Research Institute and Prof. Sohair Abdelrahman; professor and former head of the clinical pathology department in Al Mokhtabar laboratories who surprised the students with her exceptional offer providing them an internship programme 25 days in Al Mokhtabar laboratories.

 

The event was a fantastic celebration of the student's accomplishments, commemorating the successful completion of this important chapter in their lives.
