Arab StarPack competition is the first packaging contest in the Arab region to promote innovation in the domain of packaging. In 2021, The Arab StarPack competition had 657 students participating from 10 Arab countries in the four categories of the competition which are visual packaging, structural packaging, save the Food, and Smart Waste. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tarek Saleh Faculty of Arts & design dean and with the guidance and directing of Dr. Ahmed Attia, Assistant Professor, the Graphics and media Arts students did outstanding projects that was highly appreciated and awarded by the jury.
The student, Menna Talaat Abdel Rahman, won the first place at the general level of the "Pan Arab Awards" competition in the field of "Visual Packing".
The students of the Faculty of Art and Design won six prizes in three different areas of the competition at the level of Egyptian universities:
In the category of "Visual Packaging”:
- Menna Talaat Abdel Rahman: 1st place
- Malak Rifai: 3rd place.
In the category of "Structural Packaging":
- Menna Talaat Abdel Rahman: 1st Place.
In the “Save the Food” category, the winners were:
- Nada Safwat Tawfik: 1st Place.
- Manal Omar Ahmed: 2nd Place.
- Rana Osama Al-Bialy: 3rd Place.
