MSA’s Biotechnology Students Receive Specialized Training in Cell Culture and Embryology
In line with October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA)’s commitment to providing exceptional training opportunities for its students, and as part of the Faculty of Biotechnology’s strategy to integrate academic knowledge with practical applications, a group of students participated in an outstanding summer training program in collaboration with Cairo University Research Park (CURP). The training took place at the Cell Culture and Embryology Laboratory.
💡 Over the course of two intensive days, the students received comprehensive training on the various steps involved in in vitro embryo production (IVF).
The program covered:
-Collecting oocyte samples from bovine ovaries.
-Preparing maturation media enriched with growth hormones.
-Microscopic examination of samples to determine developmental stages.
-Applying advanced cell culture techniques.
-Assessing cell viability and measuring laboratory efficiency.
Students expressed their great appreciation for this unique opportunity, describing it as an invaluable experience that combined theoretical knowledge with practical application in a professional research environment. They highlighted that the most enjoyable moments were collecting oocyte samples, observing them under the microscope, and gaining hands-on exposure to new techniques that were clearly explained and applied by the students themselves.
This initiative reflects the Faculty of Biotechnology’s dedication to preparing its students for excellence in scientific research and equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in both academic and professional arenas.
