
The Faculty of Physical Therapy Shines at the International Conference on Pulmonary Hypertension
October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA)’s Faculty of Physical Therapy proudly participated in the International Conference on Pulmonary Hypertension, with remarkable representation from third-year students and faculty members. The event gathered leading specialists in cardiology, pulmonology, and critical care, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Olfat Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy.
-During the participation, MSA representatives showcased the essential role of physical therapy in:
- Enhancing respiratory function and alleviating shortness of breath symptoms.
- Supporting cardiovascular performance through advanced cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
- Improving patients’ physical and psychological well-being while enhancing their overall quality of life.
- Reducing complications and increasing the ability to perform daily activities effectively.
The conference featured a distinguished lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Heba Abdeen, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy for Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. Her presentation focused on the crucial role of physical therapy in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, while also highlighting the integration of artificial intelligence in managing and preventing complications.
In addition, the event included a specialized workshop entitled:
“POCUS in Critically Ill Pulmonary Hypertension Patients”,
which showcased the latest ultrasound techniques in evaluating and managing critical cases of pulmonary hypertension, and explored how physical therapy can be integrated into a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
This participation reflects the University’s commitment to producing highly qualified graduates who are equipped with cutting-edge medical knowledge and practical expertise to serve both the local and international healthcare community.
