On the list of didactic activities this month, the Faculty of Biotechnology arranged a fruitful field trip to Al Watania Poultry, an animal feed factory located in El Nubareya city for students enrolled in the "Industrial Projects" course.
Upon arrival, the students received a comprehensive tour around two different locations on site for poultry feed and cattle feed production.
Staff on site including Mr. Fouad Abdelhamid, the feed factory manager, gave the students detailed information on the sourcing, quality control and packaging of their animal feed products.
The factory staff also had a fruitful discussion with students on current challenges of animal feed production and how biotech research can come in handy to remediate those issues.
