MSA’s Faculty of Physical Therapy Participates in the 7th Edition of the “Disability Challenge” Conference

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) took part in the activities of the 7th edition of the “Disability Challenge” Conference, upon a kind invitation from H.E. Dr. Sami Saad, President of the Egyptian Physical Therapy Syndicate. The faculty was officially represented under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Alfat Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy, alongside a distinguished group of faculty members and students.

The conference, which commenced on Friday and continues through Saturday, is held under the patronage of:

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population
Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity

The opening session witnessed the presence of prominent national figures, including Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare, and Dr. Manal Mamoun, Head of the Supreme Assignment Committee and Head of the Central Administration for Human Resources at the Ministry of Health, in addition to a number of deans of physical therapy faculties. The conference recorded a remarkable attendance of more than 4,500 professionals from the physical therapy sector.

The conference is honorarily chaired by Dr. Sami Saad, reflecting the Syndicate’s commitment to strengthening the role of physical therapy in advancing the healthcare system, supporting community service, empowering persons with disabilities, and expanding horizons for scientific research and professional networking.

Now established as a leading annual platform for seven consecutive years, the “Disability Challenge” Conference aims to support and empower persons with disabilities by fostering an inclusive environment and providing a meaningful space for dialogue around their rights, needs, and opportunities for growth and integration.

This year’s edition features the participation of over 80 leading companies specializing in assistive services for persons with disabilities, in addition to specialized workshops and panel discussions delivered by more than 50 local and international experts, showcasing the latest innovations in rehabilitation and community inclusion.

As part of the scientific program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radwa Saeed, Associate Professor of Pediatric Physical Therapy and Pediatric Surgery at the Faculty of Physical Therapy – MSA University, delivered a scientific lecture entitled:
“Sleep Disorders in Relation to Metabolic Function and Quality of Life in Children with Cerebral Palsy.”
The lecture addressed the relationship between sleep disorders, metabolic functions, and quality of life among children with cerebral palsy, contributing valuable academic and clinical insights to the conference.
