MSA Student Among Top 20 at “Gilna – Art for Life” Festival

Congratulations to Amir Ashraf Adeeb Eskandar, a fourth-year student at the Department of Cinema and Theatre, Faculty of Arts and Design – October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, on his remarkable achievement at the Gilna – Art for Life Festival (Lotfy Labib Edition), held at the Egyptian Catholic Center for Cinema.

For the second consecutive year, Amir’s photographic work “Behind The Desk” was selected for exhibition among the top 20 out of 46 competing photographers — a testament to his artistic vision and growing impact in the field of visual storytelling.

His work, produced by MSA University, sheds light on the human side of assistant lecturers, capturing their personal emotions and experiences beyond their professional roles.

Founded in 1949 by the Franciscan Fathers, the Egyptian Catholic Center for Cinema is one of the oldest cinematic institutions in Egypt and the Arab world. It aims to promote human and ethical values in art through its annual festival, which honors meaningful artistic works. The center also played a significant role in the early years of Egyptian cinema by selecting the films that represented Egypt at the Oscars, before this responsibility officially transferred to the Syndicate of Cinematic Professions.

This recognition reflects MSA University’s commitment to nurturing creative talent and empowering students to showcase their voices and perspectives on distinguished artistic platforms.
