MSA Biotechnology Students Present AI-Powered Surgical Innovation at ESS 2025
A student team from the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA); Nihal Alaa, Nour Marwan, and Radwa Kamal — proudly participated in the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Egyptian Society of Surgeons (ESS 2025).
The team delivered an oral presentation titled:
“RoboDoc: AI-Driven Camera Monitoring System for Enhanced Surgical Precision and Safety”,
as part of the scientific sessions of one of the most prominent medical conferences in the field of surgery.
The project focuses on developing an AI-powered real-time surgical monitoring system that detects surgical errors and instantly alerts the medical team, enhancing both precision and safety during surgical procedures.
This innovative work was developed inside the Prototyping Lab at the Faculty of Biotechnology, under the supervision of:
-Dr. Ahmed Gomaa (Lecturer and Lab Supervisor)
-Prof. Dr. Gehan Safwat (Vice Dean of the Faculty)
-Prof. Dr. Ayman Diab (Dean of the Faculty)
We are proud of our students’ participation in specialized scientific conferences, which reflects the faculty’s vision of supporting medical technological innovation and empowering students to contribute to the development of impactful future solutions.
