The Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) proudly participated in the 7th International Physical Therapy Scientific Conference, held under the central theme “No More Disability with Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation.” The faculty’s participation took place upon the gracious invitation of Professor Dr. Olfat Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy and conference representative, reflecting MSA’s continuous commitment to academic excellence, scientific engagement, and contribution to the advancement of physical therapy and rehabilitation practices at both national and international levels.
The conference brought together a distinguished gathering of professionals in the field of physical therapy, with a special emphasis on advancing the role of rehabilitation techniques in improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
The conference was attended by several esteemed faculty members, teaching assistants, and a group of students from the Faculty of Physical Therapy. Among the student representatives were third-year students from the Department of Physical Therapy for Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, specifically:
- Ahmed Mohamed
- Ahmed Rabei
- Yahia Alaa
These students presented their research on: “Physical Therapy Approaches to Enhance Strength and Balance in Hemodialysis Patients”
Their research focused on the critical role that physical therapy can play in improving the strength, balance, and overall quality of life for patients undergoing hemodialysis. The presentation emphasized the importance of tailored rehabilitation programs designed to address the specific needs of these patients, helping them manage the physical challenges associated with their treatment regimen.
The research highlighted that patients undergoing hemodialysis often experience significant muscle weakness, fatigue, and balance issues due to the nature of their treatment.
By presenting this research, the students contributed to the conference’s overall objective of emphasizing the vital role of physical therapy in improving the lives of individuals with complex health conditions, advocating for more inclusive healthcare strategies that promote rehabilitation alongside medical treatment.
