World Development Communication Day

MSA’s Faculty of Mass Communication to Celebrate “World Development Communication Day”

In support of the Mediterranean Initiative for Uniting Universities Against Climate Change, the Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is delighted to announce its celebration of “World Development Communication Day”, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Amany Fahmy, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication.

The event aims to shed light on the influential role of media in raising environmental awareness, addressing climate challenges, and fostering a culture of sustainability among youth — empowering students to become advocates for meaningful change through communication and creativity.

The program will feature:
– Short films directed by MSA alumna Amira Abdel Fadil, exploring environmental storytelling and creative expression.
– Awareness campaigns on environmental preservation, produced by graduates from the Public Relations and Advertising Department.
– Interactive games and student-led activities tackling environmental issues in fun and engaging ways.

In addition, journalist Mohamed El-Hawary, Coordinator of the Mediterranean Initiative for Uniting Universities Against Climate Change, will share insights into the initiative’s mission and the pivotal role of Egyptian universities — including MSA — in advancing sustainable climate action.

The event will also include an eco-friendly products exhibition, showcasing locally produced items that encourage sustainable consumption and environmentally responsible practices.

“Environmental Day” reflects the Faculty of Mass Communication’s dedication to combining education, creativity, and community engagement to promote environmental consciousness and support global sustainability efforts.
