
“Beyond the Fast: Unlocking the Secrets to a Healthier Ramadan” Insightful Event
The Interprofessional Education (IPE) Hub at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) organized an outstanding event entitled :”Beyond the Fast: Unlocking the Secrets to a Healthier Ramadan”, under the patronage of the 3 medical facilities at MSA University: Physical Therapy, Pharmacy and Dentistry. This event brought together distinguished experts in medicine, nutrition& physiotherapy, dentistry, and pharmacology to discuss essential health aspects of fasting during Ramadan and focusing on the diabetic patient tips to be healthy during fasting.

🔹 Assoc. Prof. Shereen Mahmoud (Biochemistry Dept., Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University) – Physiological Changes during Ramadan: Metabolic & Hormonal Adaptations
🔹 Dr. Marwa Saeed
(Head of Physiotherapy Neurosurgery ICU, Cairo University & Clinical Nutrition Specialist) – Ramadan Nutrition Guidelines: Healthy Eating & Special Considerations for Diabetic Patients
🔹 Dr. Shereen Assem (Lecturer of Restorative Dentistry, MSA University) – Oral Health Considerations: Xerostomia, Halitosis & Other Challenges
🔹 Prof. Noha Nassar (Head of Pharmacology Dept., Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University) – Management of Medications for Diabetic Patients in Ramadan
The event included a student competition and an orientation to Interprofessional Education (IPE) which was looking for the opportunity to participate in a case scenario that would involve the cooperation between the medical team members and their capabilities to work together in a professional patient centred environment.
