
The Faculty of Dentistry Organizes a Community Oral Health Convoy on World Oral Health Day
In celebration of World Oral Health Day, the Faculty of Dentistry at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) organized a comprehensive medical and awareness convoy to the Health Unit at Masaken Osman, 6th of October City.
The initiative came as part of the faculty’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and public health awareness, and witnessed the active participation of:
Members of the Convoys Committee
-The Sustainable Development Committee
-Internship Doctors
-Students from the DCMSA (Dental Club of MSA)
Impressive Impact in Numbers During the convoy:
-230 patients were examined
-175 patients received immediate dental treatment
-The remaining cases were referred to the Faculty’s dental clinics for further care and treatment.
Alongside the clinical services, students from the DCMSA conducted awareness sessions on the importance of maintaining good oral and dental hygiene, and educated patients on effective methods to prevent tooth decay. As part of the initiative, free samples of toothpaste and toothbrushes were also distributed to all attending patients.
This initiative reflects the university’s firm belief in the importance of community outreach and social responsibility. It highlights the role of students not only as future professionals but also as active contributors to public health and awareness.
