
Short Film Making Workshop for Faculty Members at the Faculty of Mass Communication
The Broadcasting Department at the Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) organized a two-day training workshop for faculty members titled “Short Films Making Workshop”, delivered by acclaimed director Ahmed Abdel Salam.
The workshop covered a wide range of specialized practical topics in the field of short film production, including developing the main idea and synopsis, character building, structuring the dramatic arc, scriptwriting, crafting dramatic dialogue, techniques for directing actors, and visual storytelling using camera angles and movement, as well as filming different types of scenes.
Director Ahmed Abdel Salam holds a Master’s degree in Narrative Filmmaking from MetFilm School, London, and has an extensive professional portfolio featuring works that have been screened at prestigious international film festivals such as El Gouna, Clermont-Ferrand, and Durban. He has taught at both Egyptian and international universities and currently serves as Director and Producer at Digital Tales Productions.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic engagement from all attendees, who praised its practical content and its role in enhancing the integration between academic knowledge and creative practice in the field of visual arts.
