About the Program:

The Clinical Nutrition and Nutrigenomics Diploma at the Faculty of Pharmacy – October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is a pioneering academic program designed to empower students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in the emerging fields of nutrigenetics, nutrigenomics, and sport nutrigenomics, preparing them to lead the future of personalized nutrition and healthcare. Through a comprehensive and integrated curriculum aligned with international academic standards and best practices, the diploma combines cutting-edge research, innovative clinical practices, and state-of-the-art laboratory techniques to cultivate a new generation of specialists capable of designing personalized diet plans, contributing to disease prevention and management, and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary medical teams to enhance patient outcomes. Strategically grounded in insights from the Egypt Genome Project and the emerging Sports Genome Initiative, the program equips students with robust theoretical foundations and hands-on competencies in molecular nutrition, genomic science, and translational research, positioning graduates at the forefront of nutritional science and personalized medicine in Egypt and beyond

Program structure:

The Diploma degree in Clinical Nutrition and Nutrigenomics Diploma is awarded upon successful completion of 27 credit hours delivered over the course of a full one academic year. In Semester 1, students study five mandatory courses, totaling 13 credit hours. In Semester 2, students complete four mandatory courses, one elective course selected from the offered options, and a research project, totaling 14 credit hours.

Program Objectives:
  • Prepare specialists in nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics.
  • Design personalized and sports nutrition plans based on genetic analysis.
  • Provide hands‑on training in the latest nutrigenomics techniques and clinical applications.
  • Strengthen collaboration within multidisciplinary medical teams to support personalized medicine and apply clinical nutrition principles in disease management.

First Semester courses: 5 Mandatory Courses

  • Basic Principles of Clinical Nutrition
  • Fundamentals of Nutritional Genomics and Precision Nutrition
  • Nutritional Care in Pediatrics and Geriatrics

  • Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics

  Second Semester courses: 4 Mandatory Courses + 1 Elective + Research Project

  • Sport Nutrigenomics
  • Laboratory Techniques for Nutritional Genomics
  • Clinical Nutrition 2
  • Adult Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition
  • Microbiota and Nutritional Health (Elective)
  • Food Additive Safety and Toxicity (Elective)

Eligibility and Terms of Acceptance in the Program:
  • Graduates awarded BSc. degree in pharmaceutical sciences from an Egyptian university or from an equivalent university accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt.
  • Graduates with general grade “good” and above in Biochemistry courses are eligible.
  • Applicants will be interviewed by a panel of Faculty staff before their final acceptance.
  • Male applicants should bring a document clarifying their military service status.
