
MSA University Celebrates Its Students’ Creativity in Visual Journalism
The Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) hosted the “Stories Through the Lens” event under the patronage of Professor Dr. Amani Fahmy, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Dr. Fieby Raouf. The event aimed to showcase innovative visual storytelling projects by students in the field of Visual Journalism, where they presented outstanding works that narrate real-life stories from society.
The judging panel included a distinguished group of professional photographers:
- Amr Nabil – Chief Photographer at Associated Press and founder of the Photographers Division at the Journalists’ Syndicate.
- Adel Mobarez – Independent photojournalist specializing in portrait photography, particularly in the artistic field.
- Dr. Galal El-Messiri – International judge, photographer, and professor at Nile International University. He is also a member of the General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Egyptians (UAP) and Deputy Director of Photography at Masrawy, specializing in street photography and capturing human emotions.
The jury announced the winners of the “Lens of Truth Award”, with the top five positions awarded to:

🥈 Wedad Maher – Be with You in Your Journey
🥉 Laila Ahmed* – Love After 70
🏅 Malak Mohamed* – The Soul of the Village
🎖️ Rola Hamada – Breaking Down to Build Up
This celebration was the result of collaboration between the Journalism and Broadcasting departments, reinforcing the faculty’s role in honing students’ skills and preparing them for professional careers in media.
