The Faculty of Arts and Design at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) and the Fashion Department has successfully concluded the annual Fashion Conference, expertly titled “Stitching the Future: AI Heritage & the Evaluation of Fashion,” marking a significant convergence of students, researchers, and leading industry professionals. The event was dedicated to exploring the revolutionary impact of artificial intelligence on the fashion industry, simultaneously emphasizing the critical importance of preserving and celebrating cultural heritage within modern design.
Insights from Industry Leaders and Experts
The conference featured a series of highly inspiring talks and presentations that provided valuable perspectives on the future of fashion. Attendees gained strategic insights from Lubna Omar, Expert in Luxury & Fashion Brand Strategy and Brand Manager at SIRAN Jewelry, who focused on the evolving landscape of strategic branding within the luxury sector. Addressing current market dynamics, Ms. Habiba Mohamed, Sales at Sokkar Mecca, presented key market trends and consumer preferences that are actively shaping the luxury sector today. The foundational importance of cultural identity was championed by Sheam Elgabi, an esteemed Fashion Designer specializing in Traditional Egyptian Clothing, who underscored its significance in contemporary fashion design. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Nahed Baba, Professor of Textile Printing at Ain Shams University, shared her expertise on textile innovations, showcasing how traditional practices can be effectively harmonized with modern technology.
Beyond the main presentations, the conference included interactive workshops that inspired creativity and encouraged participants to integrate intelligent tools into the design process, always maintaining respect for historical contexts. The event also served as a platform to celebrate emerging talent with a dedicated Certificates Ceremony, highlighting the achievements and valuable contributions of participants in the fashion field. Roaia Osama, Founder & Creative Director of Roaiia, and Rowanda Elbarbir, Creative Director, Brand Developer & Fashion Designer, both shared their professional journeys and demonstrated the innovative applications of AI within their own successful brands. Their insights illuminated practical ways technology can boost both creativity and efficiency in the design process.
