MSA Engineering Hosts Insightful Seminar on Construction Quality & Safety
The Faculty of Engineering at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) successfully organized an educational seminar titled “What If the Buildings Spoke? Lessons from the Construction World”, presented by Eng. Mahmoud Mourad, Deputy Head of the New 6th of October City Authority and author of “What If the Buildings Spoke”.
The seminar provided valuable insights into the hidden challenges of urban development, the importance of engineering supervision at various construction stages, and the necessity of soil studies to ensure structural safety. It also addressed the significance of using certified high-quality materials and highlighted common construction fraud practices and execution errors, warning against negligence in construction, which can lead to catastrophic consequences.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. Eng. Mahmoud Mourad emphasized that engineering is not just an academic field but a responsibility that requires precision and adherence to technical standards to ensure the safety and sustainability of projects. The discussion sparked thought-provoking conversations on construction quality, safety, and sustainability in modern developments.
At the conclusion of the seminar, MSA University honored Eng. Mahmoud Mourad for his exceptional contribution and valuable insights. The university reaffirmed its commitment to hosting more events that bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, fostering a new generation of skilled engineers.
