
MSA Congratulates Prof. Gehan Safwat on Her Election as President of the National Committee for Women in Science
October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Gehan Safwat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology, on her election as the President of the National Committee for Women in Science, in recognition of her distinguished international career and outstanding scientific contributions.
Prof. Gehan Safwat is the first Egyptian woman to earn a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, in addition to completing postdoctoral studies at the University of Adelaide in Australia. She has also played a significant role in the global food security agenda, leading several United Nations missions to refugee camps in multiple countries around the world.
Her election to this prestigious national position reflects her exceptional scientific stature, her leadership in empowering women in scientific fields, and her impactful efforts in addressing critical issues related to food security and sustainable development.
