Microbiology & Immunology Department Scientific Day

The Microbiology and Immunology Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy – October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is pleased to share the success of the 2025 Microbiology Scientific Day, held under the theme: “Stay Aware, Stay Safe”

This enriching event brought together students, faculty members, and guests for a series of student-led scientific presentations designed to raise awareness of critical topics in microbiology and immunology, with substantial implications for public health and biomedical innovation.

The program featured insightful discussions under two main thematic areas:

Microbiology Awareness Topics

• • Viral and parasitic infections affecting vulnerable populations, including infants, young children, travelers, pregnant women, and athletes

• • Bacterial and fungal diseases emerging in relation to climate change

Immunology Highlights

• • Long COVID and the evolving immunological landscape of post-viral syndromes

• • Challenges in the development of vaccines against emerging infectious diseases

• • Advances in mRNA-based vaccine technologies

• • The intricate connections between the human microbiome, probiotics, and immune modulation
