MSA Mass Communication Students Honored at the 9th “Awladna” International Forum with an Award Named After Dr. Nawal El Degwi

In a remarkable achievement for the Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), students Mariam Mohamed and Dina Tony were honored at the 9th edition of the International Forum for the Arts of People of Determination – “Awladna.”

Mariam Mohamed received an award for her documentary film “Abdo Basha,” while Dina Tony was recognized with a Certificate of Excellence for her movie project “Don’t Die Before Me.” Both graduation projects reflected the creativity, academic excellence, and societal engagement that distinguish MSA students.

This recognition came through a newly inaugurated award, introduced this year for graduation projects from faculties of mass communication, proudly carrying the name of Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Head of Board of Trustees of (MSA). The award pays tribute to her distinguished career in education and her continuous support for youth creativity, also Dr. Nawal El Degwi herself presented the awards to the two winners.

The Awladna Forum, held under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi at the Cairo Opera House, brought together participants from dozens of Arab and international countries in a vibrant cultural and artistic celebration showcasing the talents of people of determination. Organizers emphasized that this new award opens significant opportunities for mass communication students to present their academic projects on international platforms, linking their creativity with societal issues in ways that highlight both the humanitarian and artistic mission of the forum—and the excellence of MSA University students.
