International Recognition for MSA Biotechnology Research at Italy’s ICGEB Alumni Meeting
Cutting-Edge Liver Cancer Findings Unveiled at Italy’s ICGEB Alumni Meeting
Dalia Hesham, the assistant lecturer from the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) was honored to participate in the prestigious ICGEB Alumni Meeting, held in Italy from June 11 to 13, 2025. The international event welcomed 190 researchers from over 40 countries, fostering global scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange.
During the conference, the assistant lecturer “Dalia Hesham”, delivered an oral presentation on a vital research project focused on the metabolic and molecular characterization of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients in sub-Saharan Africa. The project, a key component of the #WeSTARFellowship, aims to uncover reliable biomarkers for the early detection and improved clinical management of liver cancer in the region, where access to diagnostic tools and treatments remains limited.
The ICGEB Alumni Meeting served as a powerful platform to spotlight emerging research from developing regions, strengthening existing scientific partnerships while encouraging future collaboration across borders.
“This experience was a great opportunity to share our work with a global audience and gain valuable feedback from fellow researchers dedicated to tackling cancer worldwide,” the assistant lecturer shared.
The participation reflects MSA University’s ongoing motivation to impactful research and its contribution to addressing global health challenges through innovation and international cooperation.
