Infection Control Training Initiative for Pharmacy Students at Ahl Masr Burn Hospital

The Microbiology and Immunology Department at The Faculty Of Pharmacy At October University For Modern Sciences And Arts (MSA), in collaboration with the Infection Control and Training Departments at Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, organized a comprehensive practical training day for Infection Control Pharmacy students. This activity reflects our continuing commitment to strengthening pharmacists’ contributions to infection prevention practices and enhancing their applied understanding of clinical workflows in healthcare settings.

During the visit, students observed infection prevention and control procedures across several critical units, including the Emergency Department (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Rehabilitation facilities. They also received focused exposure to two essential components of infection control: the Microbiology Laboratory and the Central Sterilization Service Department (CSSD).

This training experience provided an important link between theoretical instruction and real-world application, equipping students with deeper insight into the multidisciplinary efforts required to ensure patient safety.

We extend our appreciation to the teams at Ahl Masr Burn Hospital for their collaboration, professional support, and generous hospitality. Such partnerships uphold our shared vision of preparing future healthcare professionals to serve with competence, responsibility, and dedication.
