From Base Pairs to Better Care: Awareness of Inherited and Genetic Diseases and AI Enabled Genetic Diagnostics
The Biochemistry Department at The Faculty Of Pharmacy, At October University For Modern Sciences And Arts (MSA), Scientific Day reflects the Department’s initiative “Mapping Your Genome Toward Precision Life” and highlights the transformative role of genomics and artificial intelligence in advancing healthcare. The event focuses on raising awareness of inherited and genetic diseases, emphasizing their molecular and genetic mechanisms, their impact on individuals and communities, while showcasing the latest innovations in AI‑enabled genetic diagnostics.
Molecular Genetics students pesented scientific posters illustrating key concepts in molecular genetics and diagnostic strategies. In addition, students demonstrated AI‑generated genetic reports, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. These reports exemplify how artificial intelligence can accelerate precision medicine, support early diagnosis, and enable personalized treatment approaches.
This initiative underscores the Department’s commitment to precision life, where mapping the genome is not only a scientific pursuit but also a pathway to better care, improved outcomes, and global competitiveness in research and innovation, Under supervision of: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amr Abdelhamid.
