
Finance and Investment Management Portfolio Management Competition at MSA University
The Finance and Investment Management Department, at thw Faculty of Management Sciences – October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) successfully conducted the Portfolio Management Competition.
The competition provided students with the opportunity to present Investment Portfolio Reports applying Modern Portfolio Theory through rigorous quantitative analysis. The projects demonstrated advanced skills in stock evaluation, risk–return optimization, construction of the Minimum Variance Portfolio and Efficient Frontier, as well as portfolio performance assessment.
The event was conducted as a competitive group-based presentation, during which student teams presented and defended their portfolios before an esteemed panel of experts. Three teams were awarded the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ranks in recognition of their exceptional performance and were presented with Certificates of Achievement.
The competition was supervised by Dr. Asmaa Hamdy, Finance and Investment Management Programme Coordinator. Evaluation was carried out by a distinguished panel comprising Prof. Heba Helmy, Head of the Economics Department, MSA University; Dr. Dina Mohsen, Assistant Professor of Finance, Cairo University; and Ms. Hala Ghonem, CFA, FMVA, AGM of Investment, United Bank of Egypt. The panel’s insightful feedback and in-depth discussions challenged students on portfolio construction, risk management, and performance evaluation from a professional perspective.
Special thanks and appreciation are extended to the Evaluation Panel for their professionalism and dedication, to the Faculty Supervision Team for their guidance, and to Dr. Zakia Abdelmoneim, Acting Head of the Finance and Investment Management Programme, for her attendance and support.
