Bridging Theory and Practice: A Transformative Field Trip to Color Medical Labs for Genetics
The Biochemistry Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is thrilled to share the immersive success of the recent scientific field trip of Cell and Pharmacogene Therapy Level 3 students to Color Medical Labs for Genetics, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
The trip served as an active learning platform, where students engaged in discussions with experts during two inspiring talks: Oncology Targeted Panels, which explored the role of genomic profiling in precision medicine, and Genetic Counseling, highlighting the importance of patient care and hereditary risk assessment.
Following the talks, students toured the advanced labs, witnessing the entire genetic testing process from sample collection and processing to the cutting-edge Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) unit. This hands-on experience fostered a deeper understanding of molecular genetics and ignited a passion for innovation in the field.
