In an atmosphere filled with creativity and pride, the Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) held its 8th Annual Media Forum, under the theme “The Premiere: A Legacy and a Dream”. The event was attended by faculty members, students, and alumni.
The forum featured a distinguished screening of a selection of graduation film projects created by students of the faculty. These projects addressed a variety of social issues and highlighted inspiring Egyptian figures from both the present and the past. The screenings received high praise from the judging panel, which included a group of renowned professionals and creatives in directing, journalism, criticism, and acting.
This year, the faculty introduced a special honorary award named after the late Prof. Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, former President of the University, in recognition of his lifetime of dedication and remarkable contributions to the institution. The tribute served as a heartfelt expression of gratitude and a gesture of loyalty to his enduring legacy. The award shield was received by his daughter, as a symbol of the university’s deep appreciation for her father’s name and influence. His daughter, Ms. Rehab Khairi, received the honor shield.
During the event, awards were presented to the winning projects in the categories of Directing, Cinematography, Concept, Script Development, and Overall Excellence. In addition, the jury presented special certificates to a number of films that stood out for their artistic and creative quality.
