
FACULTY PROFILE:
The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts offers two different programs, namely: (Nutrition Program and Food Technology Program). These Programs are designed in alignment with the National Academic Reference Standards (NARS) for the Nutrition and Food Technology Programs.
The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology includes three departments; the Department of Nutrition Sciences, Department of Food Technology, and Department of Basic Sciences), and these departments work in perfect harmony to provide the curricula and all the needs of the educational programs provided by the faculty.
The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology aims to provide competent graduates in the field of Nutrition and Food Technology who can compete in the job market both nationally and internationally.
The courses of the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts have been carefully designed to cover the knowledge gap in modern scientific fields such as: biology, chemistry, microbiology , biochemistry and physiology and include all specialized courses in the field of nutrition such as food preparation sciences, microbial ecology, food microbiology, nutritional epidemiology, sports nutrition, nutrition through the life cycle, nutritional requirements in health and diseases, food preservation, food safety and quality. These courses are designed according to international standards in nutritional sciences, which are rapidly growing, in addition to the requirements of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities.
Students of the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology, through October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, have student facilities and equipment to practice scientific research activities, sports and cultural activities, and community participation activities, as follows:
- The university campus includes an Olympic complex that includes playgrounds for all kinds of sports, where students participate annually in the league of university faculties and they participate in tournaments/ championships with other universities on campus too. The sports academy was also established at the university to train students in various team and individual games, with the help of coaches from outside the university.
- The campus includes a scientific research building comprising laboratories that are equipped at the highest level, dental clinics and a medical clinic that provides medical care to all employees and students of the university. It also includes a student services building that can accommodate more than 400 students at one time and contains a cinema hall, a meeting room, a hospitality hall, a cafeteria, and restaurant, in addition to the cultural activities office to organize recreational and scientific trips.
- The campus includes the open-air Roman theater, with a capacity of about 900 seats, and the closed opera theater, with a capacity of about 600 seats, where the play (The Phantom of the Opera) was presented, which was shown at the Egyptian Opera House, and in Rome, Italy, where it was chosen from among 9 universities representing Egypt. This is in addition to presenting an Arab musical play (Bein Al-Qasrain) at the El Sawy Cultural wheel, as well as the play (Mid-summer Night’s Dream) at the Opera House.

The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology is one of the best educational institutions at the local and international level contributing to the fields of nutrition and food industries to improve health and well-being.
MISSION:
The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology provides modern educational programs in the field of nutrition and food technology, based on the latest strategies and learning and teaching tools, which meet the standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and provide qualified graduates in the field of nutrition and food technology, who can compete in the labor market locally and internationally. The faculty promotes interdisciplinary research that uses science and creativity to serve society, to improve health and prevent disease.
