“Design Processes from Sketching to Post-Production” – A Deep Dive into Visual Storytelling at MSA
As part of its commitment to advancing creative education and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Faculty of Arts and Design at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) hosted the Annual Scientific Conference of the Department of Cinema and Theater Design, under the title: “Design Processes from Drawing to Post-Production.”
Held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Tarek Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Cinema and Theater, the event provided an insightful platform for exploring the full creative journey in visual and performing arts.
The conference was not merely an academic gathering—it served as a dynamic space for reflection, creativity, and the exchange of experiences, addressing the various stages of the design process. From the initial conceptual sketch, through detailed planning and execution, to the integration of advanced post-production techniques, the discussions highlighted the importance of design as an integrated system requiring artistic vision, technical expertise, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The conference featured an inspiring keynote presentation by renowned Production Designer Mr. Ahmed Fayez, who shared insights from his acclaimed works including the TV series “The Assassins”, “The Heart and the Key”, and the film “The Crows”. His session shed light on the creative and technical challenges behind visual storytelling in contemporary media.
The Faculty of Arts and Design extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to organizing this event, from faculty members, students, and distinguished guests. We look forward to fruitful discussions and inspiring presentations that will enrich our knowledge and push us all toward broader horizons of creativity and innovation.
Congratulations to the Cinema and Theater Design Department on this successful conference. We wish continued success and creative excellence to all students and academic staff.
