Organized by the UK Central Quality Assurance, Cooperation and International Partnerships Unit, the programme offers students the opportunity to study abroad at MSA’s esteemed UK partners, the University of Greenwich and the University of Bedfordshire.

In 2024, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) proudly marked the 20th anniversary of its longstanding partnership with the University of Bedfordshire and the University of Greenwich—a collaboration that has significantly enriched the academic experience of MSA students. As part of this milestone, the MSA UK Quality Assurance, Cooperation, and International Partnerships Unit hosted a special event celebrating two decades of success for the UK Summer Abroad Programme, which has been instrumental in providing students with world-class education and international exposure since its inception in 2004.
The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Mona Afifi, Head of the Unit, who highlighted the programme’s impact in shaping globally competent graduates. The celebration was further honored by the presence of Prof. Noel-Ann Bradshaw, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science at the University of Greenwich, who commended the students for seizing this unique learning opportunity. Additionally, distinguished alumni Dr. Mohamed Aness (Class of 2008) and Architect Mostafa Salem (Class of 2012) shared their inspiring success stories, reflecting on how the programme has positively influenced their careers.

OUR PHILOSOPHY:
The UK Student Study Summer Abroad Programme is more than just an educational opportunity—it’s a transformative experience that empowers students to thrive in a globalized world securing their place in local and international job market.
This programme immerses students in a dynamic learning journey that pushes them beyond the boundaries of their academic specialization. By stepping into different roles throughout the trip, they gain firsthand experience in fields outside their own, fostering adaptability, critical thinking, and a interdisciplinary perspective. This exposure enriches their understanding, challenges their potential, and equips them with a versatile skill set that extends beyond the classroom.
The Programme has been subject to continuous development through out the years. Its vision is creating Internationalization in higher education and its mission is establishing student mobility. While the objective is developing the students employability attributes towards achieving Agile graduates holding attributes of Proactivity, Resilience, Competence, Flexibility, Adaptability & Sustainability.
When does the programme take place?
The programme is held annually during July and August. Specific dates are announced via students’ academic emails from the UK Summer Abroad Abroad Programme Unit.
Who is eligible to apply?
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
• A strong academic profile with a competitive CGPA.
• A successful personal interview with the Head of the UK Central Quality Assurance, Cooperation & International Partnerships Unit.
• A commitment to actively participating in both the theoretical and practical components of the programme.
What does the programme include?
The programme consists of two main components:
Theoretical Learning and practical experience in the UK aiming to enhance the students employability attributes and their interpersonal skills. The students attend specialized courses at the University of Greenwich or the University of Bedfordshire, delivered by esteemed UK instructors.
