MSA University Successfully Concludes the “Green Fingerprint” Sustainability Campaign

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) has successfully concluded its “Green Fingerprint” campaign, a multi-day initiative organized by the Faculty of Arts and Design under the supervision of Prof. Tarek Saleh, Dean of the Faculty, the Environmental Affairs Committee at the Faculty, and held in collaboration with academic partners and the Ministry of Environment. The campaign aimed to raise environmental awareness, promote sustainable practices, and engage students in hands-on eco-friendly activities across the university campus.

Day Two: Creativity and Environmental Awareness Through Active Engagement

The second day featured an Origami Workshop led by Assoc. Prof. Mostafa Mahmoud Shehata, where students explored the art of paper folding as a mindful and sustainable practice. In addition, a Running Marathon was held on campus under the supervision of Dr. Salah Abdelhady, motivating students to engage in physical activity while reinforcing the spirit of community involvement and environmental responsibility.

Day Three: Interactive Workshops Highlighting Sustainability and Green Communication

The campaign continued into its third day with a series of educational and practical workshops. In cooperation with the Continuance Learning Center (CLC), the Green Content Workshop—conducted alongside Assoc. Prof. Hayat Badr—introduced students to creating impactful environmental content that supports sustainability-focused communication.

The Faculty of Arts and Design also organized two specialized workshops:

  • Recycling Workshop, supervised by Dr. Hoda Madkour with participation from Dr. Yousra Abdelaziz, which encouraged students to creatively repurpose waste materials.
  • E-Waste Workshop, supervised by Dr. Rasha El-Shaity, focused on raising awareness about electronic waste and best practices in its management.

These sessions received strong engagement from students and helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Day Four: Sustainability Leadership and Circular Economy Practices

On the fourth day, the Recycling and E-Waste workshops continued, allowing students to further develop their sustainable project outcomes.

A major highlight of the day was a seminar held in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, supervised by: Dr. Sherine Shaheen, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability – Middle East & Africa with contributions from:

  • Yara Yassin, Founder of Up-Fuse,
  • Dina Soliman, Founder of Replox
  • Dr. Iman Abdel Mohsen, National Coordinator of the UNIDO Project on Circular Economy for the Plastic Value Chain
  • Reham Yehia, Barracuda Company for Agricultural Waste Recycling

The seminar addressed key topics including circular economy practices, green entrepreneurship, and innovative solutions for waste reduction, inspiring students to adopt more proactive environmental roles.

Final Exhibition: Showcasing Sustainable Innovation

The campaign concluded with an exhibition that showcased all outcomes and projects produced throughout the workshops. Students presented their creative solutions, recycled artworks, e-waste projects, and sustainability-focused content, illustrating the impact of the campaign and the depth of their learning experience.

MSA University extends its appreciation to all participating students, staff, and environmental partners who contributed to the success of the “Green Fingerprint” campaign. The initiative served as a meaningful step toward fostering a culture of sustainability, creativity, and environmental responsibility across campus.
