Feasibility Study Reports’ Competition
The Finance and Investment Management Programme, Faculty of Management Sciences at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) successfully conducted the Feasibility Study Reports’ Competition showcasing the culmination of rigorous analysis and business planning by final-year students.
The competition involved eight groups presenting comprehensive feasibility reports that investigated diverse, real-world business opportunities with a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation. The projects covered a wide spectrum of sectors, ranging from specialized consumer goods, such as sustainable modest training suits and healthy dessert alternatives, to technology-driven solutions like electric GPS sticks for the visually impaired and healthy customized food applications. Other ventures included sustainable service models, such as an environmentally conscious car wash and a luxurious entertainment concept, alongside proposals for strategic investments in renewable energy, like solar panel installation and financing, and specialized fitness facilities, such as Mixed Martial Arts centers.
The projects were rigorously evaluated against a comprehensive rubric that assessed both Group and Individual contributions. Key areas of evaluation included the strength of the Business Idea & Team Fit; the comprehensive analysis of The Product/Service; the depth of the Industry and Market analysis; the accuracy and justification of Financials Projections; and the quality of the Future Action Plan and Final Recommendation.
The entire competition was conducted under the direct supervision of Dr. Asmaa Hamdy, Finance & Investment Management Programme Coordinator, MSA University, and Dr. Bahaa Allam, Assistant Professor of Finance & Investment Management, MSA University. The projects were rigorously evaluated by an esteemed panel of experts, which included Prof. Magdy Abdel Kader, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies & Research, MUST University; Dr. Dalia Elsawah, EGX board member and Vice Chairman, SME Committee, Egyptian Businessmen’s Association; and Prof. Mohamed El-Deeb, Vice Dean and Head of Accounting Department, MSA University.
The competition served as a vital platform, bridging the gap between theory and professional practice. The high engagement during the Q&A challenged students on their underlying assumptions, market penetration strategies, and financial sustainability. The constructive feedback delivered by the expert panel provided invaluable guidance, preparing students for future careers in finance, investment, and strategic consulting.
The judges recognized several projects for exceptional performance across various criteria, demonstrating the high standard of reports: Three reports were selected as the Best feasibility study in all perspectives. Furthermore, specific technical and strategic strengths were acknowledged, with two reports awarded for the Best Business Idea, two reports recognized for the Best Industry and Market Analysis, and one report awarded for the Best Service Analysis.
The event concluded with a special ceremony where Dr. Asmaa Hamdy was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing her tremendous efforts in achieving the prestigious ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) validation for the Finance and Investment Management Programme. This validation is a testament to the program’s commitment to high international academic standards and its dedication to providing students with globally relevant qualifications.
Special thanks and appreciation are extended to the entire Evaluation Panel for their professionalism and dedication, to the Faculty Supervision Team for their guidance, and to Dr. Zakia Abdelmoneim, the Acting Head of the Finance and Investment Management Programme, for her attendance and support of the competition, and particularly to Professor El Sayed Nagy, the esteemed Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, for his attendance and continuous support for the program’s excellence.
