Exploring AI in Higher Education: A Transformative Workshop at MSA’s Faculty of Pharmacy
The Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and arts (MSA) hosted a workshop titled “AI in Higher Education” which was led by Ms. Yasmin Youssef, an executive director of the Modern Foundation for Development and Education Improvement (MDE), a certified expert in education and ICT for interactive technology, an internal assessor for the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), and an AdA in-Company Trainer Examiner at the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce AHK, where she evaluates trainers’ performance in Dual vocational education systems outside Germany.
The workshop featured practical activities and offered valuable insights into effectively integrating AI into teaching practices, along with ethical considerations related to AI in education. It also included the Framework for AI Co-Creation in Pedagogy and identified the roles and competencies teachers need for the ethical use of AI.
Additionally, it encouraged faculty members to explore AI’s potential for innovative and interdisciplinary research. The course was developed in line with the UNESCO framework and guidelines for AI in education from DAAD, an association of German higher education institutions and their student bodies.
Special thanks to Ms. Yasmin Youssef for the insightful workshop.
