COMMUNITY HEALTH CLUB

(Screen • Educate • Prevent)

عن

Community Health Club is the Faculty of Physical Therapy’s outreach platform, taking movement health education beyond the campus. Through free posture and injury screening days, school and sports-club health talks, and prevention campaigns, the club serves the wider community, strengthens the faculty’s public presence, and gives students genuine experience in screening, health communication, and public education.

الرؤية

To position the Faculty of Physical Therapy as a visible, trusted health resource for its campus and its surrounding community — known for prevention and education, not only treatment.

الرسالة

To deliver two to three community outreach events each year, including free posture and injury screening days on campus and health talks at schools and sports clubs, so that students practise communication, screening, and health education with real people while the faculty fulfils its community service role.

Key Focus Areas

  • Posture, movement, and injury risk screening for non-patient populations.
  • Ergonomics education for students, office workers, and school children.
  • Injury prevention and warm-up programmes for amateur and school-level athletes.
  • Public health messaging on back pain, physical activity, and sedentary behaviour.
  • Safe, ethical, clearly bounded student roles in community settings under staff supervision.
  • Health communication: explaining a finding to a non-medical audience.

Expected الأنشطة

  • Free posture and injury screening days held on campus and open to all university students and staff.
  • Health talks and movement workshops at schools, clubs, and community centres.
  • Awareness campaigns on back pain, study posture, phone and laptop ergonomics.
  • Injury prevention and warm-up sessions delivered to university sports teams.
  • Training sessions preparing club members in screening protocols and referral rules before each event.
  • Seasonal awareness campaigns tied to international health days.

Expected Outputs / Impact

  • A documented record of community service activity supporting community-engagement accreditation criteria.
  • Improved public image and visibility for the faculty and the university.
  • Students experienced in communicating findings and health advice to the general public.
  • Aggregated, anonymized screening data describing common postural and movement risks locally.
  • Established partnerships with schools, clubs, and community organizations.

Potential المشروعات

  • An annual campus-wide posture screening day with a published summary report.
  • A student ergonomics guide for lecture halls, laboratories, and study desks.
  • A school-based “healthy backpack” awareness campaign.
  • A standard injury-prevention programme delivered to MSA University sports teams.
  • A social media health education series produced and presented by students.
