Lebaladna Foundation Honored by Cairo University for Transforming Its Historic Faculty of Law Library

The Faculty of Law at Cairo University honored the Lebaladna Foundation for Development and Social Services, one of the institutions established by Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of October University For Modern Sciences And Arts (MSA), in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the modernization and redevelopment of the Faculty of Law Library, the oldest and largest library at Cairo University, home to an exceptional collection of rare legal and academic resources spanning more than 150 years.

The project, which took two full years to complete, transformed the library into a smart library through the comprehensive digitization of its collections, including legal references, master’s theses, and doctoral dissertations. This initiative ensures the preservation of this invaluable academic heritage while making it digitally accessible for future generations, supporting legal research, advancing knowledge, and strengthening the pursuit of justice.

Dr. Engy Mansour, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of MSA and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Lebaladna Foundation for Development and Social Services, received the honorary shield on behalf of the Foundation in recognition of its efforts in delivering this landmark project, which stands as a distinguished example of meaningful community partnership in supporting academic institutions and preserving Egypt’s scientific and intellectual heritage.

This recognition reflects the shared belief of the Lebaladna Foundation and MSA that investing in knowledge is an investment in people, and that preserving and expanding access to academic resources for future generations is one of the most enduring forms of sustainable development, creating a lasting impact on education, research, and society.
