Field trip to the ‘Armed Forces Veterinary Hospital’

The faculty of biotechnology’s industrial projects course has indeed begun, welcoming the return of situated pedagogy and experiential learning!

 

, over 50 students had a supervised field trip to the ‘Armed Forces Veterinary Hospital’, and toured their facilities which comprise of over 15 laboratories dedicated to groundbreaking research in animal health and well-being! The hospital operates on three distinct platforms:

 

  • Laboratory Analysis, which includes Food/Feed quality assessments, pathological assessments, and environmental assessments.
  • Clinical settings and Interventions: Ranging Animal vaccinations, Diagnosis, Therapies, Surgical procedures, and Rehabilitation.
  • Technical Training and Capacity Development: Skills development for veterinary practices and research in collaboration with leading scientists and professionals, particularly interventions related to Horses.

 

The Hospital also exclusively cares for the animals of the Equestrian club, with over 200 eventing, jumping and Arabian purebreds!

 

The students were in awe of the level and sophistication of the equipment and facilities in addition to the hospital’s range of research activities.
