The Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University congratulates its students for winning the second place in the 27th Dubai International Conference and Exhibition for Pharmaceuticals and Technology (DUPHAT 2022). More than 500 contestants from 50 Faculties of pharmacy around the world participated.

The students: Hady Gamal, Kareem Ahmed, Salma Alaa, and Rawda Ashraf from the fifth year won the award for 2nd best poster in terms of creativity using virtual reality “VR” in their graduation project “Treating Autoimmune Diseases Using Stem Cells” under the supervision of Dr. Sherine Mahmoud, Department of Biochemistry. Students used the stem cells in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis which is a chronic inflammatory disease that can attack other areas of the body.

In accordance with a memorandum between MSA CS faculty and Pylon Company.

The faculty invited the business and software technical lead of Pylon to express their opinion about the students’ graduation projects (Grad 1).

The company commended the scientific and technical level of the projects.

The projects proved its validity and suitability for the needs of the Egyptian IT market as it achieved the target of using artificial intelligence in various fields.

Within the agreement signed between MSA CS faculty and sumerge Software Solutions Company, a technical seminar was held to present our students’ Grad 1 graduation projects. The company appreciated the scientific level of the projects through the published research in the IEEE conferences.

The feedback highlighted the importance of business perspective.

They provide students with valuable comments enriching quality of the projects for Egyptian industrial IT market. The projects also target some of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) which were adopted by all UN Member States in 2015.

The Faculty of Computer Science at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) signed a cooperation agreement with Qcentris, one of the leading companies with focus on software development, quality assurance, and consulting.

The Faculty of Dentistry, Sustainable Development Committee, Environment Development affairs and community service organized a trip to The Religious Complex and the Citadel of Salah El Din for all students and staff members from different faculties of MSA University.

All attendees felt happy and fulfilled to be seeing Egypt's sightseeings and old history.

An amazing trip to Luxor and Aswan took place for MSA students and staff members to see the astonishing historical places and sightseeings.

Some of the locations they visited were Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, Temple of Hatshepsut, Lake Nasser, High Dam, and Philae Temple.

The MSA-STC Training Committee holds the third visit to EgyptAir

Within the framework of the Faculty of Engineering’s endeavor, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, to enhance the practical skills of the students, the training committee held a field visit for the students of the Departments of Communications, Electronics and Mechatronics Engineering, in order to learn about the various aviation systems, ground and air control of aircraft, as well as the means of wireless communication with aircraft.

With the participation of 12 competing universities, Our amazing Biotechnology students participated in  Science Operation Leaders in Egypt "SOLE" which is one of the most important national competitions tailored for biotechnology students all over the Egyptian universities.

Faculty of Arts and Design at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, celebrated on the 23rd of February 2022 the excellence, creativity, dedication and enthusiasm of Graphics and Media Arts Department students and academic supervisors. As a token of appreciation for the great effort and continuous dedication exerted in line with the Egyptian Dates logo competition to create a new logo for the Egyptian Dates. This competition took place as part of the 5th Egypt International Date Palm Festival edition which was held in January 2022 in Siwa, Egypt. Under the auspices of President Abdelfattah Elsisi, organized by the Food export council (FEC) in collaboration with the MSA, IMC, AEC, FAITC and Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.

Within the framework of preparing staff members at the faculty of physical therapy at October University for Modern Science and Arts on Tuesday 22 of February at 9:30 a.m. that had the title of “Practical prospects of electrotherapy and principles of application”, in light of supporting faculty for teaching and learning within the capabilities of the faculty and training on the use of technology in treatment, the first training was conducted for 4 hours about the use of electrotherapy lab facilities: Therapeutic Laser devices, Ultrasound and Magnetic therapy device that were applied on the patients.

On 12/01/2022, a Sector Committee visit from a tripartite committee formed by the Supreme Council of Universities headed by the head of the Physiotherapy Studies Sector Committee, Prof. Dr. Amira Tohamy, and its members: Prof. Dr. Jihan El Miniawy, Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy - Cairo University and Prof. Dr. Walid Talaat, Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy, Benha University, to examine and inspect the material and human capabilities and laboratories. The recommendation was to agree to the sufficiency of the capabilities.

He started his visit with a few minutes meeting with the University president Prof. Khairy Abdel Hameed, talking about the university vision, and collaboration with British universities, spirit and achievements at MSA.

October for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) receives an official appreciation from the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry for the constructive cooperation between the Export Council for Food Industries and the Faculty of Art and Design at MSA University, for organizing and supervising a logo design competition for Egyptian dates and for encouraging and supporting young people at the university for creativity, innovation and design of a logo for dates which will have a great impact in highlighting the identity of Egyptian dates locally and globally.

The official Dental Committee - DC-MSA student club at October for Modern Sciences and Arts took a break from Cairo and travelled to Alexandria after finishing their final exams as they felt that they needed this trip.

The Faculty of Computer Science at MSA University has held the Graduation Projects Discussion Event for students in CS Pathway which includes image processing, Deep Learning, Cancer Detection , Chabot’s, Self-driving cars, speech recognition , automation systems, smart surveillance – social distancing. As a part of the university’s endeavor to provide students with practical experiences, 15 of level 1 students of the Faculty of Engineering students were able to learn about the production and manufacturing steps of the juice factory for Juhayna Company

17 projects of the Computer Engineering Department - included 11 projects for GRAD I students and 6 GRAD II projects - were discussed over the past week in the areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning for early detection of lung cancer, smart systems to improve the performance of financial stock exchanges and smart financing systems, prediction and early detection on COVID-19 disease, smart devices and systems to detect terrorist elements through smart monitoring systems, smart systems for student registration and academic advising, smart systems for modern irrigation and rationalization of water use.

The students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Microbiology Department, went for a visit to EVA Pharma Factory for Pharmaceutical Industries. This visit was part of the activities of a workshop for the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and it included lectures from microbiology experts in companies such as AstraZeneca and Pfizer, and ended with a field visit to the microbiology laboratories.

In context of the country’s tendency to spread the awareness about the Covid-19 vaccine, the Community Service and Environmental Development committee organized two campaigns to raise awareness about the types of vaccines against the Covid-19 virus and the importance of receiving them and their side effects, on the university campus on 24/9/2021

Within the framework of academic and research activities, the Center of Excellence for Projects and Entrepreneurship held a competition to select the winning projects whose outputs will contribute to the United Nations development goals and Egypt’s 2030 plan. More than 160 projects from different faculties participated in the competition and a celebration took place for the winning projects that were also funded by the TICO office at MSA University.

The opening of the parametric furniture exhibition within the activities of evaluating the projects of the third year students at the Department of Interior Design at the Faculty of Art and Design at MSA University.

90 students worked together in groups within the Furniture Design and Implementation course as the study objective was based on the design and implementation of parametric pieces of furniture inspired by nature. Proud to mention, the students were able to design functional and aesthetic pieces of furniture, identify the different types of wood suitable for each design and distinguish between them, and learn about the different ways of making furniture, equipment used in the manufacturing stages, and methods of their various installations.

The faculty of Computer Science congratulated its top performer students and gave them certificates in the English for Research Purposes ENG201 course on Monday, 14th February 2022, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty Dr Ali Hamed El-Bastawissy, the Vice Dean Dr Ayman Ezzat, and the Assistant Professor of Linguistics in the Faculty of Languages Dr Rania El-Wakil.

Just a couple of weeks ago we celebrated two computer science seniors for their publication of a research paper at a conference hosted in Egypt.

Today we celebrate with you these two students again! Abdelaziz Ashraf and Eriny Wessa have published a research paper at the international conference ICECET hosted in South Africa. Their Paper proposed a system to teach kickboxing to beginners using pose estimation and classification.

The Faculty of Engineering at October for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) In the presence and participation of 38 faculty members, alumni and sustainable design specialists from public and private companies and universities from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Jordan conducted a workshop under the title of “Design Builder”.

The Faculty of Biotechnology organized its graduation projects’ presentations with 197 students with individual project presentations on Saturday 12th of February, 2022. The Faculty of Biotechnology has signed a cooperation protocol with Agri Lab on 12th of February, 2022. Agri Lab provides various chemical and microbiological analysis services for all sectors interested in food manufacturing and provides meals to the consumer and sectors interested in food quality and safety. This protocol was signed with Mrs. Fadia Gamal, the laboratory manager.

The terms of cooperation concluded in the agreement include:
