Studying the utilization of gene technology to improve the quality of life biologically.
One of our graduates was first worldwide to be awarded the Nobel Prize Simulation in Chemistry and Medical Sciences at the Asian Science Camp which was held in Daejon; Korea.
“Biotechnologists are able to modify genes and do DNA splicing to alter plant and animal species with amazing outcomes in many aspects of life” Biotechnology is the application of molecular and cellular processes to solve problems, conduct research, and create goods and services. This field is a burgeoning force in the national and global economy in this century.
We are witnessing a biotechnological revolution that has grown to encompass almost every aspect of our daily lives: health and medicine, food and agriculture, the environment, business, and industry.
Rapid advances in genome science are opening up a multitude of new business opportunities in the life sciences related industries. To accompany this growth, manpower appropriately trained and educated in Biotechnology is in demand.
Faculty of Biotechnology MSA University is unique in its own right both nationally and in the Middle East region. It is well equipped with the latest laboratory equipment worldwide. Huge investments are geared to provide excellence in scientific education.
The main aim of the Biotechnology program at MSA University is to produce well-educated bio technologists with the scientific background and laboratory experience necessary for employment in the fields of Biotechnology.
What is Biotechnology?:

*Any technique that uses living organisms or substances from those organisms to make or modify a product, to improve living organisms, or to develop organisms for specific uses.

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) becomes the best faculty nationally, regionally and internationally in biotechnological sciences, and to be at the forefront of providing higher education, scientific research, as well as community service.

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) offers an outstanding educational programme, accredited nationally and internationally, using modern and advanced technological approaches, that supports entrepreneurship, thus qualifying competitive outstanding graduates who address the needs of labor market for all biotechnological fields. Furthermore, the faculty conducts applied scientific research, has prominent scientific publishing, contributes to distinguished community service, develops the competencies of its staff, and abides by national and international quality standards.

The strategic goals for the faculty are aligned with the strategic goals of the university, and the faculty pursues the achievement of its mission through the following objectives:

الشفافية: تؤمن الكلية بالشفافية في كافة الاليات والانشطة وعرض الإيجابيات والسلبيات أمام المسئولين وذلك بهدف معالجة السلبيات ودعم الإيجابيات، وصولا إلى الهدف المنشود من الخطة الاستراتيجية

Conditions Required for Each Certificate
Thanaweya Amma
- Only Scientific Science certificate is accepted.
IGCSE
1- The Total number of subjects to be calculated are (8).
2- Passing grade for (OL) subjects is “C”
3- Passing grade for (AL or ASL) is “D”
4- Accepted scores must be taken during not more than (4) successive years with no maximum of IGCSE sittings.
5- There are (5) qualifying subjects :
- English language or Literature.
- Any branch of Math.
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
+ Student must take at least (3) more subjects.
American Diploma
1- The Total number of subjects to be calculated are (8) subjects.
2- At least (4) subjects from Grade 12 + Maximum of (2) subjects from Grade 10.
3- The passing grade for SAT 1 or EST 1 is 800 while ACT I the passing grade is 820.
4- Each requested subject MUST be at least (1) credit.
5- There are (5) qualifying subjects :
- English Language or Literature or Composition.
- Any branch of Math.
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
+ Student must take at least (3) more subjects.
Important Note: The rules regarding the validity and the accepted dates for SAT / ACT or EST are set and will be announced by the Ministry of Higher Education in Egypt.
N.B: The passing grade for SAT2/EST2/ACT2 is 900
* Subjects must include: (Biology + Physics or Chemistry or Math)
Canadian
1- The Total number of subjects to be calculated are (8).
2- At least (5) subjects from Grade 12 +Maximum of (3) subjects from Grade 11
3- Subjects with less than one credit are not accepted.
4- There are (5) qualifying subjects :
- English language or Literature.
- Any branch of Math.
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
+ Student must take at least (3) more subjects.
IB
1- The Total number of subjects to be calculated are (6).
2- The student MUST study (3) subjects at least on the higher level + (3) on the standard level.
3- In addition to Theory of Knowledge & Extended Essay.
4- Passing score is 24/45.
5- Arabic language can be considered one of the 6 required subjects
6- Qualifying subjects:
- English Language or Literature
- Biology (On the higher level)
- Chemistry (On the higher level)
+ Student must take at least (3) more subjects.
Abitur
1- The total number of subjects to be calculated are (7)
2- ONLY (1) subject can be calculated from Grade 10 if (Biology – Chemistry – Physics)
3- There are (5) qualifying subjects :
- English language or Literature.
- Any branch of Math.
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
+ Student must take at least (3) more subjects.
French Baccalauréat
1. The total number of subjects to be calculated are (7)
2. Passing mark is (10)
3. French Oral & French Écrit are calculated as one subject
4. Only Série Scientifique (S) is qualified to join the faculty of Biotechnology
5. Year 12 must include Sciences de la vie at de la terre subject
6. Physique-Chimie can be calculated from year 11 or 12
