We are delighted to welcome both new and returning students to the Libraries of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA). Wishing you all a successful and fulfilling academic year ahead.<\/p>

Across campus, we have two main libraries with a primary goal to support education and research by providing the latest information resources in various formats, organized for easy access.     • Library Catalogue:<\/strong>
      All information is searchable and retrievable via the automated library catalog (OPAC). Search the Koha Library catalogue by title, author, subject, or keyword. Combine multiple search fields for precise results. Library staff are available for assistance.<\/li>
    • Information Desk:<\/strong>
      Get help with book availability or subject-specific information, including articles and resources.<\/li>
    • Study Spaces:<\/strong>
      Quiet study areas are available on the third and fourth floors, with an electronic library lab on the second floor of Building L. No talking or phone use allowed.<\/li>
    • Computers & Printing:<\/strong>
      100 computers are available for academic use, along with printing and scanning services.<\/li>
    • Online Databases:<\/strong>
      Access a variety of academic databases for research and learning.<\/li>
    • Smart Library Access:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>

      \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 MSA Library offers a QR Code service for easy access to the Smart Library Catalog via smartphones. It Requires a device with a camera, web browser, and QR Code reader app (available on Google Play & App Store).<\/p>

      • Shelf QR Codes:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>

        \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Library shelves are equipped with QR codes linked to the library’s automated system. Users can instantly access book and periodical bibliographic data, book covers, and graduation project details across faculties (readable, audible, or visual formats).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

        General Policies<\/strong><\/h4>

        \ud83d\udd07 Quiet Environment:<\/strong><\/p>

        • Talking and mobile phone conversations are prohibited.<\/li>
        • Set phones to silent before entering.<\/li><\/ul>

          \ud83d\udeab Food & Drinks:<\/strong><\/p>

          • No eating, drinking, or smoking in the library.<\/li>
          • Dispose of waste in the provided bins.<\/li><\/ul>

            \ud83d\udcbb Computer Use:<\/strong><\/p>

            • Library computers are for academic purposes only.<\/li><\/ul>

              \ud83d\udcd6 Book Borrowing:<\/strong><\/p>

              • Books must be officially borrowed and stamped with a return date before leaving.<\/li><\/ul>

                \ud83d\udcda Book Shelving:<\/strong><\/p>

                • Do not re-shelve books; leave them on tables for library staff to handle.<\/li><\/ul>

                  Borrowing Books Policy<\/strong><\/h4>

                  \ud83c\udd94 User Registration:<\/strong><\/p>

                  • Register at the Library Circulation Desk with your University ID.<\/li><\/ul>

                    \ud83d\udcda Borrowing Limits:<\/strong><\/p>

                    • Students:<\/strong> Borrow up to 2 books for 7 days, renewable for another 7 days unless reserved by another user.<\/li>
                    • Staff:<\/strong> Borrow up to 3 books for one semester.<\/li><\/ul>

                      \ud83d\udd04 Renewals:<\/strong><\/p>

                      • Renew by bringing the book to the library for re-stamping. Books may be recalled at any time during the extended loan period.<\/li><\/ul>

                        \ud83d\udeab Restrictions:<\/strong><\/p>

                        • Do not pass borrowed books to others.<\/li>
                        • CDs may not be borrowed.<\/li><\/ul>

                          \ud83d\udce6 Reserved Books:<\/strong><\/p>

                          • Collect reserved books by 12:00 PM on the second working day after return, or they will be returned to the shelves.<\/li><\/ul>

                            \ud83d\udcdc Lost or Damaged Books:<\/strong><\/p>

                            • Users are responsible for the full replacement or repair cost.<\/li><\/ul>

                              \u23f1 Late Returns:<\/strong><\/p>

                              • Fines apply unless due to illness or unavoidable circumstances (proof required).<\/li><\/ul>

                                \ud83d\udcb8 Fine Structure:<\/strong><\/p>

                                • First Week:<\/strong> LE 2 per book per overdue day.<\/li>
                                • Overdue > 4 Weeks:<\/strong> Book considered lost. Charged cost + 25% of the current price (minimum LE 20).<\/li>
                                • Unpaid Fines:<\/strong> Added to semester fees.<\/li><\/ul>

                                  \ud83d\udcc5 Examination Period:<\/strong><\/p>

                                    • Penalty fees doubled 4 weeks before and during exams.<\/li>
                                    • Penalties also doubled for books recalled by the library but not returned.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
