Every year we look forward to the Stock Market Simulation, organized by the faculty of Management Sciences, not just for the simulation itself but also the insightful preceding sessions.
The MSA stock market simulation will be held from the 7th to the 9th of May, our 1st session was given by Dr. Ashraf El Sharkawy, who has more than 30 years of academic and professional experience in the field of assurance, investment, accounting and finance and is also a professor in Cairo University. In his capacity as the chairman of the Egyptian financial supervisory authority, deputy chairman of EFSA and as a senior advisor for the chairman of the Egyptian captain market authority for more than 6 years.
The second session was given by Dr Eslam Azzam, who is an associate professor and head of finance at the department of management at The American University in Cairo. He teaches in the areas of finance, corporate finance, investment analysis, international finance, and derivatives. He is currently the financial advisor for the chairman of the General Authority of Free Zones and Investment and the CEO of the private equities for developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) company. He sits on the boards of a number of different companies listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
He is a member of the American Economic Association (AEA) and the American Finance Association (AFA). Dr. Azzam received his bachelor degree from Cairo University, an MA from the American University in Cairo and another MA and PhD from University of California Irvine.
Saturday will witness the closing ceremony of the simulation, where certificates will be awarded to the participants as well as trophies for the best investors, banks and mutual funds.
