The dean of the Faculty of dentistry at MSA University has attended the international conference for Arabian Dentistry deans which was headed by Dr. Nada Al-Noaman, the dentistry dean at Saint Joseph University in Beirut.

Are you ready to “The Takeoff”? was the opening question of the free event entitled “The Takeoff” that was organized fully by the students of MSA Dentistry Science club. It was conducted by 2 of the top young motivational speakers for the first time in MSA. Covering a need or let us say in dental terminology filling a cavity, As always expected from the Science club students created an event that fills a gap. Matching part of the club vision in developing the character of a dentist as well as making him creative and competent the students of the club created that event for their colleagues.
The faculty of dentistry MSA university has sent a medical convoy to " Al Qanater " , the convoy included interns and 50 of senior students , they aimed to aware people about the importance of oral hygiene and offer treatment for those who need , special thanks for Dr. Samah kamel for organizing the trip , TAs Nevin Alaa , LAs Lina Sameer , Shereen Emad , Ahmed Nabil .
The Endodontics department of Faculty of Dentistry at MSA university has held a very successful One day course and workshop for Endodontics interns , presented by Prof. Dr. Elham ElShaboury and Dent supply company which offered the dental supplements and kits for the interns , the course discussed the new strategies of Cleaning and shaping process of endodontic treatment , the interns learnt how to make a maximum coronal access of different types and shapes of teeth , the design features , NI TI system and the thermal obturation system and it's good adaptation, the course will be repeated each month for the new registered interns.
MSA university has invited the wonderful kids of Sonaa' Al Hayya assembly in Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. samah kamel was there to welcome them and introduce them to her students who gave the kids simple lecture of how to clean their teeth properly and how to protect their teeth from caries using simple stories , the kids interacted with the students in several games and competitions that taught them how to use the brush and the paste and their alternatives, Dr. Samah took the kids to check on their oral health to offer the possible treatment for those who need it , At the end of the day the kids was happy and they said that they aren't scared of dentists anymore .
In dentistry , Specifically from Oral biology department Dr. Samah Kamel gave her students a different and Interesting lecture , to encourage them and teach them how to exchange knowledge and learn differently and how to be a part from a team work , She divided her students into four groups , each group lectured a part from the lecture content , Dr. Sahar shawkat the head of the department was invited , also Dr. Amen sror and Dr. Tareq essawi , the doctors evaluated each group , after Dr. samah asked the students some questions to make sure that they understood each part , and of course there was a winner team !"
The faculty of dentistry has held the first event concerning the medical nutrition therapy and diabetes awareness , Tuesday early morning ,As diabetes is now considered one of the fetal life threatening diseases , Prof. dr. hakim hussien the professor of Oral medicine gave a lecture to more than 120 of students , staff members and faculties worker about the diabetes.

The International Association for Dental Students (IADS) has held its first General Assembly meeting for this year at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) with representatives of 7 public and private universities attending.
MSA is the newest member in the IADS Egypt Charter, so the General Assembly started by welcoming MSA to the Association, then reviewing the achievements of the past academic year and the plan for the current year 2015/2016.
Endodontic Department, Faculty of Dentistry at MSAU, held a workshop, about the “Newly Rotary System, for Root Canal Treatment” (Wave One) Where Dr. Elham Elshaboury, Head of Endodontic Dept., MSA University, first gave a lecture to the attendees, followed by a Demo of the tools by the sponsor “DENTSPLY”.
“The goal of this workshop was to introduce the root canal treatment system, and to increase the clinical skills of internship. The demo showed increased cutting efficiency of rotary files, and decrease the number of files used during the root canal treatment, as well as save time of the root canal treatment.” Dr. Elham Elshaboury.
Faculty of Dentistry Seminar Single File Reciprocating NiTi File System Wave One Dr Elham El Shaboury, head of Endodontic Department, Faculty of Dentistry, organized a very interesting seminar on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. The successful seminar dealt with "Single File Reciprocating" which is a NiTi File System, Wave One. The seminar focused on some of the most objective aspects of this file such as; maximum Coronal access of different teeth, cleaning and shaping with special reference to NiTi instruments in addition to single file reciprocating NiTi File System, Wave One (Design Features)
MSA is delighted to congratulate our very own powerhouse Ingy Shehata. from the Faculty of Dentistry, on attaining her PhD in oral and maxillofacial surgery, faculty of dentistry, Cairo University. You have worked extremely hard over the years and have finally achieved one of your many goals.
Ingy Shehata has always been a dynamic catalyst to many humanitarian efforts and is responsible for the success of many of the numerous dental convoys MSA has conducted over the years.
Did you guys read the new MSA Endodontic Journal? As far as scientific journals go, this one was rather exhilarating to read. The journal is created and managed by a team of the Endodontic teaching staff from the faculty of Dentistry, and anyone who reads it would be impressed by the level of inspiration, enthusiasm and dedication presented by the MSA staff.
Once More, Over and Over Again MSA Dentistry stretched its hands to serve the community out of its social responsibility. So, in cooperation with the International Unilever Company that produces Signal tooth-paste among a lot of other detergents and products, decided to spread their activities to where crowds of people exist; like Malls, Shopping Centers, public places and schools.
In an unprecedented measure and in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Dentistry in Edinburgh, the Cultural British Council stated that Modern Sciences and Arts University (MSA), has all the up to- date means and methods academically, clinically and practically to train dentists and qualifies them to acquire the fellowship from the Royal Academy in Edinburgh.
In a constant effort to serve the community, MSA Faculty of Dentistry organized another Dental Convoy led by Dr Samah Kamel and Dr Mona Abdel Moteleb.
And went to (NES) for the second time this year to continue the treatment for all grades on November 26, 2012. The aim of this visit was to diagnose the teeth of the children (550 children) and to teach them how to brush their teeth.
Once more Faculty of Dentistry at MSA headed to October City to El Hosary School, on November 5, 2012. The Dental Convoy aim of this visit was to diagnose and supply proper treatment to 100 children' teeth and 50 staff members. The volunteered team also taught the kids how to brush their teeth and narrated some stories about fighting cavity formation. Dr Mona Abdel Moteleb delivered a lecture about healthy food like vegetables and fruits to fight cavities formation. The active team distributed boxes of fruits and vegetables to each and every child. The kids were also given plaster models of teeth with cavities where they filled it with clay. At the end MSA convoy gave the children colouring papers and stickers as a gift
On Wednesday, October 17, 2012 and for the third time in ten days, and under the supervision of Dr Ayman Kandil, Dr Samah Mohamed Kamel of MSA Faculty of Dentistry led a convoy to visit Kerdasa Village in Giza. The convoy managed to diagnose 150 patients and done extraction to fifty of them. The team filled cavities to 6 patients then done endodontics to three other patients.
Another Dental Convoy took its way to "A Z Nursery" in October City.The aim of this visit was to diagnose and supply proper treatment to 60 children' teeth. The faculty of Dentistry is not only keen about students" academic performance, but the way they present their projects is equally important! For that reason, Dr. Professor Faten Kamel put together a competition for senior Dent students of semester 9 and 10, where they will compete for the best poster!

On Sunday the May the 8th 2011, two of MSA University's most qualified professors from the faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Faten Kamel and Dr. Ahmed Zidan landed in Scotland to be part of the MFDS (Membership of Faculty of Dental Surgery) at Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.It was a fruitful week where our representatives discussed the possibility for MSA University to host the MFDS Examination in future.
Dr Ayman Kandil, Dean of Pharmacy Faculty at MSA organized and headed earlier that month a medical convoy to El Mansouria village to extend its kind services to the needy people there. He was accompanied with five assistant lecturers, five inters, 41 students and two nurses.The convoy applied full mouth diagnosis to 210 patients, extracted 110 teeth through oral surgery, and done 62 scaling by oral medicine. As for operative medicine, they have done four cavity preparations with temporary fillings. Patients were donated free antibiotics and analgesics when needed. Patients are requested to visit MSA clinic every Wednesday.
On the 10th of January 2011, MSA University's Faculty of Dentistry hosted a workshop by 3M - a diversified technology company known to provide innovative dental solutions- about Infection Control at the sterilization room. The Faculty already applies the system of Infection Control; however, 3M came to teach students and staff new tools to use as this is very important to avoid cross infection. 3M showed students how to disinfect themselves and their tools and how to use sharp instruments when dealing with patients. It is worthy to mention that the seminar was supervised by Dr. Faten Kamel of Conservative Dentistry.
Once again, a group of MSA's Dentistry students and staff took off to two hospitals in Fayoum to play an important role in developing their society. The team diagnosed patients and provided free dental treatments; moreover, a number of oral surgeries were performed to patients with severe cases.
It's noteworthy that all patients were donated free antibiotics and analgesics when needed. This convoy was prosperous in many ways as it has provided students with the experience of dealing with several medical conditions and allowed them to work in a different environment than the one they are used to.
MSA's own Dr. Faten Kamel, Head of Operative Department Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Rasha Ramadan, Assistant Lecturer, have both traveled to the University of Glasgow in the UK on Sunday 17th of October '10.The reason for their travel is to exchange both universities' impressive knowledge and to observe new teaching techniques and facilities. They also made it a point to check graduate and postgraduate programmes.
MSA hosted a renowned delegation from University of Catalonia in Spain which consisted of Catalonian Minister of Education and Head of Lildia University in Spain. The delegation aimed at signing a co-operation protocol between MSA and the Spanish ministers to enhance the efforts of researchers from both parties in order to induce the European Union support. MSA was invited to be an honorable member in the Mediterranean Universities League. They also offered adopting and financing the small and medium businesses in the university and academic exchange programs.
This Research Center is a state of the art research facility equipped with the latest in technology, and cost over 12 million Egyptian Pounds to establish. The dental clinics have been equipped with extremely high-tech specifications that meet the U.K. standards. The dental clinics include a total of 160 high-tech chairs, imported from Germany, and two students are assigned to each dental chair, in order to increase their participation, and focus.
